ETAS offers RTA-OSEK v5.0 - a Real-Time Operating System that supports both the OSEK/VDX v2.2.3 and AUTOSAR R1.0 Scalability Class 1 operating system standards. RTA-OSEK works with the TASKING C Compiler on the Infineon C167 and TriCore families to generate applications with tiny RAM and ROM footprints and ultra-low CPU utilization. The performance of the application can be enhanced still further through optimizations based on timing analysis, for example reducing application stack requirements by up to a factor of eight, or identifying how much additional time can be spent executing specific tasks.

The TASKING VX-toolset for TriCore and C166/ST10 as well as the classic C166/ST10 toolset are fully supported by RTA-OSEK.

On April 1, 2003 ETAS GmbH wholly purchased LiveDevices Ltd. Both ETAS and LiveDevices had a strong track record in the automotive real-time operating system arena. ERCOSek from ETAS and Real-Time Architect from LiveDevices provided the basis for many successful ECU development projects.
