The StarCore is a high performance, low power DSP architectures available as IP from StarCore LLC or as a discrete DSP from FreeScale. The StarCore is specifically aimed at applications such as wireless communications, 3G mobile phones, networking infrastructure, DSL/Cable modems, Automotive and consumer electronics products.

Built upon Altium's in-house VIPER DSP compiler technology, the TASKING StarCore C++/C Software Development tool suite provides the level of execution speed and code density needed for today's high-end DSP applications. In addition to top performing development tools and new multi-processing capabilities, the TASKING StarCore tools offer an excellent migration path for existing Freescale DSP56xxx programmers.
