winIDEA
Deos RTOS supported
winIDEA now provides dedicated debug support for the Deos RTOS, enabling improved visibility into kernel objects, scheduling activity, and runtime behavior directly from the IDE.
This support enables easier inspection and debugging of DEOS-based applications during runtime.
For more information, refer to Deos chapter in winIDEA Help

LDRA Product Family v10.6.0: Smarter Coverage, Faster Certification
The latest release of the LDRA product family - version 10.6.0 - delivers meaningful advances in code coverage analysis, execution timing, and workflow efficiency. For teams developing safety-critical embedded software, these updates translate directly to reduced certification cost, lower risk, and faster delivery.
Trace-Based Coverage: The Best of Both Worlds
One of the headline capabilities in v10.6.0 is the integration of trace-based code coverage with LDRA’s existing instrumentation-based approach. Using TASKING’s winIDEA IDE and BlueBox debuggers, engineers can now capture coverage data directly from hardware trace - with no source code modification and minimal overhead - and import those results seamlessly into LDRA coverage results and reports.
By combining trace-based coverage with LDRA’s instrumentation-based coverage and applying coverage smoothing, users can benefit from the speed and non-intrusiveness of trace-based coverage and the deep coverage analysis (including MC/DC) and that instrumentation provides. The result is a flexible, hybrid approach that reduces the structural coverage cost and effort for projects targeting DO-178C DAL A/B, ISO 26262 ASIL C/D, or IEC 61508 SIL 3/4 compliance.
TBexec: Execution Timing Analysis for Multicore
Version 10.6.0 introduces TBexec, a new timing analysis capability aimed at real-time, safety-critical embedded software. Part of the Worst-Case Execution Time (WCET) Package, TBexec captures actual test execution data to prove that software meets its timing requirements - and visualizes that data through interactive scheduling and function timing diagrams.
For multicore applications in particular, TBexec enhances testing automation significantly. Detailed timing reports covering best-case and worst-case execution times, call times, and function overlaps give engineers the evidence they need for certification, with RTOS-independent operation that works across bare-metal and any RTOS environment.
User Experience and Productivity Improvements
The release also includes practical improvements that reduce day-to-day friction:
- Global Stubs lets users load stub behavior from external templates when creating test harnesses, reducing stub management overhead as codebases and regression suites grow over time.
- TBreports source file path resolution automatically handles cases where report files have moved since they were generated - prompting the user once to locate the new path, then resolving all related file references.
- New standards packages for the Energy sector expand TBmanager’s coverage to include EN 60880 and IEC 62138 objectives, now part of the LDRA Productivity Package for Energy.

The Bottom Line
Version 10.6.0 of the LDRA product family delivers real verification and certification value. Whether you’re looking to reduce structural coverage effort through hybrid trace/instrumentation workflows, gain timing visibility for multicore systems, or streamline test management across large codebases, this release will help you reduce verification time, reduce certification cost, and lower overall project risk.
