TASKING completes the latest generation of BlueBox debuggers

The iC7pro and iC7max extend the prod­uct range with trace func­tions and the debug­ging of mul­ti­ple SoCs simul­ta­ne­ous­ly.

Munich, Ger­many, 26 March 2024 – TASKING presents the hard­ware debug­gers iC7pro and iC7max. Togeth­er with the iC7mini, which the com­pa­ny launched last fall, the prod­ucts form the lat­est gen­er­a­tion of the proven Blue­Box debug­gers. They offer faster response times and improved per­for­mance for soft­ware develop­ment and enable a smoother GUI and API expe­ri­ence.

TASK­ING’s com­pil­er tool­chains – Smart­Code for the Infi­neon Tri­Core™ AURIX™ TC4x fam­i­ly and the VX-Toolset for Arm v7.0 for the S32Z and S32E real-time proces­sors from NXP® Semi­con­duc­tor, among oth­ers – enable con­nec­tiv­i­ty to the hard­ware tar­get via the iC7mini, iC7pro and iC7max. Both Smart­Code and the VX-Toolset for Arm now include an Eclipse plu­g­in that pro­vides access to the pow­er­ful and ver­sa­tile winIDEA IDE. A soon to be released com­pil­er tool­chain for RISC-V will also enable con­nec­tion to the hard­ware tar­get via the new debug­gers.

As with the iC7mini, the new and improved ECU inter­face of the iC7pro and iC7max ensures that sig­nal integri­ty is main­tained even in the most demand­ing envi­ron­ments. Fur­ther improve­ments enable twice as fast con­tin­u­ous inte­gra­tion tests. The abil­i­ty to work in a glob­al develop­ment envi­ron­ment with remote debug farms has also been sig­nif­i­cant­ly improved. The three debug­gers sup­port all micro­con­trollers and SoCs com­mon­ly used in safe­ty-crit­i­cal auto­mo­tive appli­ca­tions.

In addi­tion to the fea­tures of the iC7mini, the iC7pro and iC7max add real-time trace capa­bil­i­ties. Addi­tion­al­ly, the iC7max can be used for syn­chro­nous debug­ging and trac­ing on mul­ti­ple SoCs, as well as mon­i­tor­ing the net­work between the SoCs.

Avail­abil­i­ty
The iC7mini from TASKING is already avail­able, iC7pro and iC7max can be ordered imme­di­ate­ly. TASKING will be pre­sent­ing all three prod­ucts at embed­ded world from April 9 to 11 at booth 255 in hall 4. In par­tic­u­lar, the iC7pro will be used in a demo that demon­strates the use of winIDEA for trace-based tim­ing tests on real and vir­tu­al tar­gets. A Vec­tor Microsar will be used on a TC399XE tar­get board and on a Syn­op­sys TC39x VDK Level-4 sim­u­la­tor (Syn­op­sys Vir­tu­al­iz­er).
