Debug Adapters

Connecting to microcontroller target

A debug adapter is a component that serves as a bridge between an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and the debug interface on an embedded microcontroller.

TASKING offers a wide range of debug adapters in various configurations to support everything from simple debug to full trace interfaces.  The debug adapter is designed with flexibility in mind as these adapters are engineered to accommodate different target connector pitches, ensuring compatibility with a variety of embedded systems.

Different microcontroller devices and architectures support different hardware interfaces and software protocols to facilitate debugging and tracing on TriCore, Arm-based SoC’s, RISC‑V etc.  Several popular interfaces include JTAG, DAP, SWD, SWO and others.

Easy to Use

Provides a consistent and portable standard interface for debugging.
Allows different IDEs to communicate with the target microcontroller.
The family of TASKING BlueBox debuggers complete the connection between the target and winIDEA IDE.

Debug Use Cases

Intended for nominal debug use cases.
Debug use cases needing high-performance and higher data throughput should investigate the TASKING Active Probe.
TASKING debug adapters are also known as ‘passive’ adapters since they are designed with no active components.

High Quality

Debug adapters are designed to support various debug protocols like JTAG, DAP SWD etc.
Debug adapter pin-outs are consistent with their industry standard PCB mounted connectors.
By identifying and fixing errors during debugging, developers can ensure the software functions as intended, leading to higher quality code.

TASKING Product Documentation consists of product release notes, user documentation, product patches (where available), webinars and product related information.
