Emulation Adapters

Quickly evaluate high-performance microcontrollers.

With some of the more advanced 32-bit microcontrollers and SoCs, the full program and data trace capabilities of the device are not made available on production silicon. Instead, semiconductor vendors provide special ’emulation devices’. These typically feature more pins than the production device, thereby providing access to the trace interface.

TASKING Emulation Adapters incorporate these high-end microcontrollers with all the necessary components to quickly get a device up and running for evaluation purposes.

Ease of Use

Provide enhanced debugging and tracing capabilities.
Facilitate easy software development and testing.
Can help bridge compatibility issues between different platforms.

Development System

Emulation adapters are assembled with all components needed to start the microcontroller.  This includes power supply, frequency oscilliators and necessary external logic to properly configure the device.
Provides capability to replace microcontroller in a customers development environment with an emulation adapter containing the full-featured ’emulation device’.
Emulation adapters allow for flexible and convenient testing and debugging.

Time to Market

Provide engineers access to detailed insights on how the chip operates via interfaces and peripherals that may not be available on production silicon.
Significantly speed up software development with quick and easy solution for powering up an advanced microcontroller.
Enables developers to run jobs on various systems without physical constraints.

Emulation Adapters consist of

A solder adapter, which can be soldered in the place of your chosen microcontroller.
The conversion board to map to different pin-counts.
A measurement board, providing access to all device pins.
The emulation adapter (umbrella device with highest pin-count and trace).
A power supply board (optional).
