TASKING Compiler Powers Harman’s Next-Generation ADAS Projects

Advancing software integration and accelerating innovation in ADAS and autonomous driving.

What is it about

From Bucharest to the World: Meet Harman

Harman, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics since 2017, has been a global leader in designing and manufacturing connected car solutions for major automotive manufacturers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW. In Romania, Harman has been present since 2012, with its Bucharest development center employing more than 400 people. Within this center, the telematics team of over 80 programmers is dedicated to building next generation connected car ecosystems.

The Roadblock: Efficient Integration at Scale

As Harman continues to drive innovation in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving functions, the company needed reliable development tools to support projects using the latest generation of Infineon AURIX TC487 IOCs. Ensuring efficient code integration and seamless workflows across teams was critical to keeping complex projects on track.

TASKING Compiler: The Foundation for ADAS Innovation

Harman adopted the TASKING Compiler, which provides the flexibility, reliability, and integration capabilities needed to support demanding automotive software development and ensure smooth collaboration across distributed teams.

From Blockers to Breakthrough

By using the TASKING Compiler, Harman accelerated the development of its ADAS and autonomous driving projects on the latest Infineon AURIX TC487 platform. The solution reduced integration blockers, improved team efficiency, and strengthened the overall reliability of complex automotive software systems.

“TASKING support was incredibly helpful when we ran into a license usage blocker. Their quick response and clear guidance got us back on track in no time. Excellent support experience”

— Ms. Lavinia Dumitru, SW Integration Project Leader, Harman

Driving Forward with TASKING

Harman is interested in exploring the new TASKING toolchain, including the enhanced debugging capabilities following the integration of iSYSTEM. In addition, the company is evaluating the static and dynamic analysis components now available through TASKING’s recent acquisition of LDRA. By extending its use of TASKING technologies, Harman aims to further strengthen its development infrastructure and support the increasing complexity of ADAS and autonomous driving software.
