Scope

This release note covers the changes between v6.0r1 and v6.0r1 patch 1 of the TASKING VX-toolset for ARM Cortex-M.

Important Notices

This patch release shall be installed on a PC with TASKING VX-toolset for ARM Cortex-M v6.0r1 preinstalled on it.

Build Numbers

For this patch, the following executable files have an updated build number: Build 22072858.

• carm\bin\asarm.exe
• carm\bin\asarma.exe
• carm\bin\asarmt.exe

All executable files still have the original v6.0r1 build number: Build 22022851.

New in v6.0r1p1

Tool Support for NXP S32K3 devices

This release adds support for the S32K3 device family from NXP. This includes:

• Tool support for all current available devices from the S32K family: S32K312, S32K314, S32K322, S32K324, S32K342 and S32K344.
• Multi-core support for multi-core devices: S32K322 and S32K324
• The TASKING debugger supports multi-core debugging on NXP S32K3 evaluation boards, although note that testing was limited to the NXP S32K3x4-Q257 Development Board mounted with a S32K344.
• A SEGGER J-Link probe is required to connect the board to the host PC. A recent version of the J-Link BASE is sufficient.

• ARMVX-39689 Assembler does not support optional #-prefix on immediate instructions

Uninstalling the Patch

After installation of this patch, the directory backup_patch1 is present in the installation directory of the product.

1. Copy the contents of directory backup_patch1 to the installation directory. This way you overwrite the files installed by the patch.
2. Remove directory backup_patch1.

License Information

TASKING products are protected with TASKING license management software.

License key

You need a license key when you install a TASKING product on a computer. When you order a TASKING product from TASKING or one of its distributors, a license key will be sent to you by email or on paper.

Local TASKING License Server (not applicable to evaluation licenses)

If you have ordered a TASKING product with a floating license, you can have it serviced by the Remote TASKING License Server (the most convenient solution) or through a Local TASKING License Server (in case you have no external network access for example). Consult your TASKING representative for assistance on deciding what the best setup would be for your situation.

It is advised that you install the Local TASKING License Server before you install products that require this server.
